Throbbing. His head is throbbing, and even the light on the other side of his eyelids is too much for him to handle. How much did he drink? Does he even want to know how much he drank? Why had he drank? He knew better, he should have known this would happen-

Oh ugh why does his mouth taste like this...

A deep groan precedes him when he finally rolls out of bed. Why can't he feel carpet underfoo- oh there it is. It's thicker than he remembers it being. His eyes haven't opened yet. He actually has the comforter he'd been tangled up in wrapped around himself tightly, part of it up over his head. His stocking feet are nearly silent as he pads his way down an unfamiliar hall in an unfamiliar house in search of water. He could worry about the rest later, but right this second, he is a spectre in a white duvet in search of relief for his cottonmouth.

[the sky is dark out, so even though it's day, the place goes dark half a moment. There's a yelp sound. It's Victor, who stepped directly onto a stray dog bone like it was a leggo. He peeks around the corner of the kitchen when the lights come back on, holding his foot.]

I have a small generator, but it won't keep the whole place warm. We should pick a room to hole up in, if the grid goes down.

[Yuri had jumped at the shout, but collected himself before Victor popped around the corner. He makes a face but nods at the logic of that.]

Maybe one of the smaller ones so it warms up faster.

[He wrinkles his nose some at the idea of losing power in a damned Siberian snowstorm, but there isn't much he can do about it. He turns back to what he was doing, hoping to at least finish the coffee before they no longer had the capability for the day. And gives Victor an inadvertent look at his choice of attire when his shirt lifted up far enough. The shorts were something of a joke gift that he hadn't thought to just leave at home, given that they were comfortable for sleeping in.

So, congratulations, Victor. You get to watch your crush walking around in tiny shorts that read Are You Nasty? across the backside.]

[it takes Victor a moment to notice anything beyond legs, beautiful legs, the words written on the ass of the shorts make him hold in a chuckle]

I'll go shut the heat and extra lights off now, before the generator kicks in. My room has a space heater, but we could move it into the studio if you wanted to spend time in there.

If we can move it back and forth, that works. I really don't want to get sedentary while I'm here.

[Because then the guy would get to watch him gain weight so fast that his stretch marks would get darker again and honestly he didn't feel like living with that embarrassment.

He comes over with a large mug of coffee, made the way he'd learned Victor liked it, then settles into the arm of the couch with his legs folded up in front of him. He could at least enjoy it before they have to figure out the heating situation.]

[Victor will busy himself, getting a bit of a feel for how Yuri liked him. Namely, not overbearing down on him, offering something every three seconds. Be cool, Victor, if he wants anything, he'll ask... probably. The older man goes to turn the house heating off, the natural and forgettable hum of the A/C sputtering to a stop. A certain quiet stillness is left behind, which was oddly disquieting, like the heart of the house has suddenly stopped beating. He'll turn off the extraneous lighting, just leaving on a trail of lamps to light their way down to the dark kitchen if they needed.

After that, he'll picking up his space heater and taking it to the studio, plugging it in. The room was warm enough already, so it would stay that way despite how relatively small the heater was.

Whenever Yuri peaks in, Victor is doing some basic ballet stretches against the wall. His long limbs extend and bounce, his eyes closed and peaceful. Makkachin is curled up right next to the heater, stirring when the door opens to look up at Yuri, before settling back in a warm pile of fur]

[Now that Victor was leaving him alone, harsh as that might sound, Yuri feels a lot better about living here. It's less stifling, and he was actually somewhat more inclined to spend time in the other man's company.

When the darkness gets to be a little too much and the silence makes his ears itch, Yuri picks himself up and pads to the studio, the path lit by lamps along the way. Why were there no candles? That would be more practical, wouldn't it? He'd have to suggest it later. And with that thought in mind he settles down on the floor beside Makkachin, scratching at the dog's ears as he nosed up onto his thigh to rest his head there.]

You're lucky you're covered in fur.

[wauuu]

Hmm? [he'll peek an eye open, spotting Yuri with the dog before closing his eyes again with a dismissive hum, continuing his stretch]

If you want to put music on, my phone is over there. Should be unlocked.

[Yuri looks up at him, ears burning slightly as he nodded and glanced around for the phone, thumbing it and frowning slightly at the Russian. He could read most of it, but he was forced to stare blankly as he tried to remember some things. He went through to a playlist and flipped through until he found a song he recognized, and smiled a bit bashfully as he set it to play. It's nice and quiet in the almost eerily silent house.]

[Victor hears the music start up and it occurs to him he should practice his movements so he didn't get rusty on them. Moving from the mirror, he'll go toward the center of the studio, before requesting]

Can you start that over, please?

[The music is started back over before the phone is put back down, and Yuri pulls his knee up to his chin to sit and watch. Now this is a way he's never looked up at Victor in person, pure adoration written all over his face. From Victor's expression to the way he moves, he is perfect.

Yuri's hand curls into the front of his shirt as he watches.]

[Victor is absolutely focused on the routine while he moves through it, movements even more pristine off the ice, where balance, direction of movement, and speed didn't matter. Just choreography and feeling, his expression sheer longing and melancholic desire. He's so close, Yuri wouldn't get such a good view even from zoomed in cameras on television. "Stay close to me" a song about love and deep connect with someone else and yet, it looks lonely as a solo piece.

Of course, it's Victor... that element had to be intentional, didn't it?]

[Even just watching him going through the motions here, off the ice, it makes Yuri's heart ache, particularly watching Victor's expression. He knows all of these motions, memorizing them from the first time he'd watched Victor perform them, and he can almost imagine the shimmer of the man's costume for the program in the low lights. He almost wants to stand up and follow along, but...well. That would mean giving himself away as a ridiculous fanboy.

Still, he can't help the little 'wow' that slips out.]

[wauuu]

[He'll hold the final moment a while before letting a long breath out. The quiet sound of a compliment draws his eyes just barely catch Yuri's look of adoration. The surprise of it makes Victor blush.]

Wow?

[katsudonprince]

[Shit, he's been caught. His hands come up over his mouth briefly.]

I. I love this program... [He looks down at the floor, red clear across to his ears.]

[Oh no don't look at him like that his heart can't take it...]

Yeah, I...I'm... [a huge loser] I learned it watching you...

You have!? Do you want to dance together?

[HE LOOKS SO EXCITED, YURI--]

I have a duette version!

[The sudden exuberance catches Makkachin's attention for a couple of seconds, until the dog yawns and rolls over, freeing Yuri's leg.]

I- what? Um...

[Just say yes Yuri you need to do this dance with the man for great justice. Inner monologue or not, Yuri can't really help as he gets to his feet, his hands fidgeting some in front of him.]

I'm not...really used to dancing with other people...

[wauuu]

[Victor is suddenly aware he got ahead of himself, but he really wants to have Yuri dance with him again...]

Just dance along side, then! It'll be fun. Not like anybody is around to watch.

[Right, nobody around to watch, just his idol and the man that has been subject of more than one shameful wank. Not that he will ever, ever learn about that.

Still, he can't really bring himself to turn that down. So he bends briefly to retrieve the phone and let Victor find the version in question of the song.]

[Victor will find the duette version of the song, it's a bit more stashed away than his main playlist. He stands beside Yuri this time, giving the man space. He'll face the mirror this time, wanting to watch Yuri in it when he wouldn't otherwise be able to.

He's much more pleased to go through the motions this time, the melancholy stripped from his expression to see Yuri perform so similarly. He really did know it!]

[He knows it pretty well, in fact, and moves around the studio with half his attention on Victor, the rest absorbed by the routine. His own expression is softer than Victor's as he goes through it, only catching Victor watching him when he glances back at the mirror and catches that flash of blue eyes. It makes his face burn slightly as he stops and glances down at the floor, then at Makkachin, then back at Victor.]

[Victor will stop dancing the normal routine at one point, pulling off to something else, which he looks thoughtful about. He catches back up to Yuuri after, a more delicate ballet spin along where a jump would be, the song ending and Victor grinning to Yuuri]

You know it exact! I'm so impressed!

[katsudonprince]

[The praise makes his cheeks turn darker pink and he ducks his head, but he smiles with it as he fidgets at the hem of his shirt.]

It's one of my favorite programs... I thought learning it might help shake me out of this.
