Throbbing. His head is throbbing, and even the light on the other side of his eyelids is too much for him to handle. How much did he drink? Does he even want to know how much he drank? Why had he drank? He knew better, he should have known this would happen-

Oh ugh why does his mouth taste like this...

A deep groan precedes him when he finally rolls out of bed. Why can't he feel carpet underfoo- oh there it is. It's thicker than he remembers it being. His eyes haven't opened yet. He actually has the comforter he'd been tangled up in wrapped around himself tightly, part of it up over his head. His stocking feet are nearly silent as he pads his way down an unfamiliar hall in an unfamiliar house in search of water. He could worry about the rest later, but right this second, he is a spectre in a white duvet in search of relief for his cottonmouth.

[Sober him is still trying to dredge of more of the night. It had to have been a hell of a ride of Victor was this entertained with him.]

Reeaaally. [he puts a few fingers over his mouth, thoughtfully thinking to himself.

[Oh no. He's done it now, hasn't he?]

Here, enjoy! [He quickly turns around with plates in hand, handing Victor's over then attempting to make a break for it with his own.]

Oh! [he snaps out of it, looking at the plate, setting it down to scoop some salad into a corner, offering a spoonful toward Yuri's plate]

It looks nice. Thank you, Yuri.

[He accepts a little of it, observing it warily. At least it doesn't look nearly as gross as the slimy white mound of what most people considered coleslaw that he was used to.]

You're welcome. There's more fish and rice if you're still hungry after.

[So he calms, and doesn't run too far, just settling himself down at the dinner table. It's not an arrangement he's used to by any stretch, taking his meals either traditionally with his family, or in random places around his apartment when he was still in the States. He keeps his eyes down on his plate, just focusing on the admittedly very nicely cooked fish that he was cutting apart with the side of his fork. He just doesn't feel a need to talk through his meal.]

[Victor will sit down at the table at the closest corner adjacent to him. Unlike Yuri, Victor loved to chat up his company during dinner. He was also hungry, so he'll put that off a moment, trying to salmon first.]

Vkusno! Simple, but very good, Yuri!

[He really shouldn't be surprised when Victor takes the seat closest to him, but he leans a little bit away in bewilderment nonetheless.]

I. Thank you! Mom tried teaching me how to cook when I was younger. Some of it kind of stuck.

The fish is well cooked; flaky but not raw. I always overdo it, but I'm forgetful about timing. I tried to use an egg timer, but then I'd still lose track which part I had the egg timer for!

It's better to keep an eye on it. It's really easy to overcook it if you don't do it a lot. So you can't wander away from the stove and relying on a timer's not really all that good unless you're working with actual eggs.

I really should learn to cook for myself. [he chuckles a little, putting more food in his mouth with a contented smile]

Always put it off. We just get too busy in this profession, I'm sure you know how that goes. [he almost says "being as good as you are", but he won't risk sounding disingenuous]

There are lots of easy recipes online, you could probably find all kinds of stuff you can make easily. [He pulls his fish apart some and takes a larger bite, just trying to focus on finishing his meal for now. If he'd had the option he might have tried to retreat to his room, but he hasn't found one to call his temporary home yet. He'll probably go ahead and do that before much longer.]

That's actually where I know the stew from! It's the first google result for "beef stew", hahaa...

[He can't help but laugh at that.] Maybe you should have googled dessert too.

I bought ice cream for that! [like three different kinds because he wasn't sure what Yuri might like]

[The ice cream initially meant for him to mourn into was now up on offer for actual dessert. How resourceful of you, Victor.] You really do have everything figured out, don't you?

Have a little confidence in me! I've gotten everything handled so far. [a wink! He did all that calling around, talking to police, and even got them all prepared for a storm! He's a damn good improviser.]

You still need something? I'll walk through the snow for it. Don't doubt me.

[Well, it really did seem like Victor had seat-flying down to a fine art.]

Is the one I put you in last night nice enough? It has it's own bathroom. The only other one like that is upstairs. You'd have to fight Makkachin for that one, though.

I wonder if Makkachin would let me move in with him...

I'd like an upstairs room but I'm not kicking you out of yours.
