wauuu This bed is too large

Throbbing. His head is throbbing, and even the light on the other side of his eyelids is too much for him to handle. How much did he drink? Does he even want to know how much he drank? Why had he drank? He knew better, he should have known this would happen-

Oh ugh why does his mouth taste like this...

A deep groan precedes him when he finally rolls out of bed. Why can't he feel carpet underfoo- oh there it is. It's thicker than he remembers it being. His eyes haven't opened yet. He actually has the comforter he'd been tangled up in wrapped around himself tightly, part of it up over his head. His stocking feet are nearly silent as he pads his way down an unfamiliar hall in an unfamiliar house in search of water. He could worry about the rest later, but right this second, he is a spectre in a white duvet in search of relief for his cottonmouth.

I could never retire, if I got this every time I won! [oh god oh no, he's going to run out of it or get full he needs to slow down but it's so damn good]

[Yuuri opens his mouth to point out that Victor might end up making himself sick if he keeps eating such heavy food that fast, but the guy's not a dog, even if he does act like it sometimes. He'd figure it out. Hopefully.]

My mom's is even better. I missed it.

I'd love to try it! Am I-- [wait, Yuuri didn't remember, he nearly chokes,]--... sorry, sorry, nevermind.

[Yuuri winces, focusing more on the choking than Victor catching himself in the middle of a thought.] How about you slow down a little, I'm not actually qualified to perform the heimlich maneuver.

We didn't really have lunch, I'm really hungry... and it's so good. [he'll still slow down, savoring what was left of his bowl. This is nice, just this, he doesn't need to push Yuuri. He'll look at the man with a sincere smile]

Thank you, very much. I haven't had a homecooked meal in a long while.

[The smile draws one out of Yuuri as well. He cuts into his egg to get a forkful of everything at once.] I guess you don't really have time to do things like this for yourself. Do you ever come back here during the season just to have time alone? I mean it's been kind of a long time since I've been home too but I still try and take the time. Between classes and everything at least.

This is the longest I've spent here in one go! I have an apartment in St. Petersburg to spend most of the season, when I'm not traveling for competition, of course... [he doesn't take time off, not really. Life and love got neglected in light of his passion for skating.]

Doesn't it get exhausting though? I don't think I ever read anything about you taking a break or doing anything that didn't involve competition... [Nevermind how...fanboy-ish that sounds, having kept up with Victor's exploits like that.]

Yes, it does, but I'm used to it. I know I'll have to slow down one day. Yakov has warned me I'm getting too old to keep this up, isn't that rude?

I don't think age is going to hurt anything so much as getting burnt out probably will. If you run yourself into the ground it won't do you any good. [Spoken from experience. Trust him, Victor, you gotta chill a little.]

You're right, I just... have a hard time slowing down. Striving for more is all I've ever done. [he'll finish his bowl, looking at it a bit lost]

I don't want to stop. That sounds very lonely.

[Yuuri watches him a moment, then picks up his bowl and moves over to the seat closest to Victor, scooping off part of the last of his portion onto Victor's dish before simply sitting and finishing what he has left.]

I get it. I've worked hard for years. Nobody can take that from me, even if I don't have as much to show for it as I'd like to. Sometimes there just isn't someone that can keep up with it.

[The little action, Yuuri drawing closer to give him a little more of his food, hits Victor like an emotional ten ton brick. There's a heat that pools in his chest and behind his nose, beneath his eyes, in a hot burst. He doesn't even look up at Yuri, just at the renewed bowl as Yuuri speaks. Victor's doesn't make a sound, but the feeling still escapes in a whelming up of tears.

Goddamn it, this food is too good to be cried into, isn't it?]

[He'd almost stood with his empty bowl to take it back to the sink, until he looks back at Victor to actually see the look on the man's face. His heart sinks; he'd done something wrong, he'd hurt the man- how? Why is this the breaking point?]

[his eyes shoot up to Yuri at being addressed with such concern. He's suddenly v e r y conscious that, yes, he has started crying in front of Yuuri]

[wauuu]

[He sucks in an embarrassed gasp of air, cheeks flushing bright red. Victor ducks his head, hiding his face in his bowl of food to just... shovel it into his mouth.

Just! Gonna finish this! Finish this food and maybe pretend he didn't have an inexplicable emotional outburst over something so tiny and odd..........]

[Yuuri is alarmed, to put it lightly, but he backs up to give Victor his space for the moment, heading to the sink to rinse his dish. He comes back when he can no longer hear the almost desperate clatter of silverware, reaching a hand to rest on the top of Victor's head.]

[wauuu]

[it's a good amount of space, it gives Victor time to collect himself somewhat. He feels foolish as all hell, shivers a bit when the hand is placed on his head. Speaking into the bowl...]

I don't know what came over me, Yuuri... I'm embarrassed you saw that, hahaa...

It's ok. [It's really all he can think to say as he takes his hand back, crossing his arm over his middle and turning his eyes to the table instead.]

The... The dinner was really good. [he feels like he said thank you too many times, even though he's brimming with gratitude.]

It's nice to have company.

[katsudonprince]

[Now it's his turn to once again say it.] Thanks, I'm...I'm really glad you liked it.

[He offers his hand, as much a gesture of apology as an offer of support.]

[Victor will set the bowl on the counter, taking Yuuri's hand to shake. It's a more distant act certainly, compared to kissing him earlier, but there's a respect in it that warms Victor's heart to confide in. Yuuri did know what it was like, pushing aside personal relationships for their sport, most skaters of their caliber did.

It seemed like something everybody knew, but nobody talked about... not with playboy and casanova images being so attractive. Victor could have any body, couldn't he? Why consider he might not want just some body, but... somebody.]

[A lot of people looked at them like they'd be less than interested when it came to relationships of any sort. Once, he might have thought the same thing about Victor. He had gotten over that in his time living here with the man, watching his tryhard antics and trying to keep his footing when things went awry. Now, he just wanted to meet Victor halfway, to once more find a comfort zone after it had been thrown into question.]

Victor...for the coming season, would you consider being my coach?
